Symptoms differ. In critically ill patients, cardiac arrest is accompanied by previous difficult and insufficient breathing and also by widespread worsening of physical condition, significant pressure reduction, and altered states of consciousness. In patients with sudden cardiac arrest, it manifests as collapse often followed by convulsive episodes or muscle jerks.
