-Il Prof. Amato si è laureato nel 1980 in Medicina e Chirurgia presso l'Università degli Studi di Napoli e Specializzato in Chirurgia Generale (1985) e Chirurgia Vascolare (1990). Dal 1984 al 1987 ha svolto stages di formazione e ricerca presso centri di medici universitari in USA, Francia e Svizzera.
