Taijiquan Taijiquan

Taijiquan, also known as Tai Chi Chuan, is an ancient Chinese martial art form that focuses on harmony between mind and body. It is practiced as a continuous, flowing sequence of slow, graceful movements that fully engage the body.

Origins of Taijiquan:
Taijiquan has historical roots dating back more than 300 years in China’s Henan province. It was developed as a form of combat, but over the centuries it has also turned into a method for improving health and meditation.

Principles of Taijiquan:
Taijiquan is based on a few basic principles:
Proper breathing and postural control
Precise movements: Taijiquan movements are smooth and circular, without interruptions or tension. This allows the practitioner to relax the body and maintain a steady flow of energy.
Mental concentration: During Taijiquan practice, the mind must be focused on the present moment and the sensations of the body. This helps calm the mind and cultivate greater awareness.
Balancing yin-yang: Taijiquan incorporates the concept of yin and yang, which represent the complementary and interdependent forces of the universe. In Taijiquan, an attempt is made to balance these forces through harmonious movements and deep breathing.
