Kidney cancer: symptoms and prevention
The kidneys are two even organs placed symmetrically at the back of the abdomen, at the lumbar level.
They are shaped like two beans, about the size of a fist, and contain tubular formations that filter blood by retaining waste substances produced by the body. These are then excreted with urine, which is the end product of renal filtration.
Typically, kidney cancer originates precisely from the uncontrolled proliferation of cells lining the inside of these tubules, although sometimes it can also begin in other tissues or the capsule that externally lines the organ itself.
