Important is rapid intervention with initiation of continuous cardiac massage (strong, fast compressions) and immediate defibrillation. The American Heart Association’s 2020 guidelines for the treatment of cardiac arrest also recommend that for patients who have a nondefibrillating heart rhythm, rapid administration of adrenaline can be intervened.
YOU PROCEED WITH:
- High-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Rapid defibrillation for defibrillatory rhythms (ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia)
- Early administration of adrenaline
- Treatment of the underlying cause of cardiac arrest whenever possible.
- Treatment after resuscitation for circulatory restoration
