ambliopia

The term amblyopia, or more commonly “lazy eye,” denotes that condition in which there is a greater reduction in visual acuity (i.e., quality of vision) in one eye than in the other.

Amblyopia is usually unilateral (affecting only one eye), but it can also occur bilaterally (i.e., affecting both eyes).

  • Use of eyeglasses – the lenses progressively stimulate the eyes to have an increasingly better quality of vision.
