In the early stage of diabetic retinopathy there may be no symptoms. It is very important not to wait until you see less to be examined. This phase is known as proliferating diabetic retinopathy. It is important to be seen urgently if you notice a worsening of vision lasting more than a few days, and not associated with a glycemic surge.
