Children and car travel: preventing boredom

Viaggiare-bambini-auto-1280x650-1

Summer has started a while ago, and soon a great many Italians will leave for vacation.
Many will travel by trains and planes, but there are also those who prefer to reach their chosen vacation destination by car. If you have children, it is necessary to make the best arrangements for departure, as it is not always easy and pleasant to spend so many hours traveling by car.

How you entertain children

It is very easy for children to get bored on a very long trip.
For this reason, it is necessary to prepare games to propose to entertain them. The imagination of adults might surprise them; in fact, there are plenty of games to play to stimulate children’s creativity as well.
Games with words or numbers are often chosen, or if there is another person on board in addition to the driver, games requiring the use of sheets of paper can also be offered.
A nice idea to entertain children is also to choose games with reference to songs, which often prove to be an excellent source of fun and entertainment.
If such games do not work, then one can get help from technology by downloading some video games directly to the smartphone.

A DVD player or tablet might be useful for suggesting their children watch cartoons or movies. This will make the trip seem to take less time.
During the stops, it is also very important to get the children off so they can get some air and stretch their legs.
Spending too much time in the car not only burdens adults, but also and especially children, who are used to not stopping for a moment.

Useful tips

While traveling, children are always hungry. First of all, it is advisable to have a light meal eaten before departure, and during the trip carry dry snacks such as crackers or breadsticks to break hunger. It is best to avoid snacks, which may soil the inside of the car, especially if it is chocolate.

Sometimes it can happen that children get carsick, so it is advisable to have them ride in their age-appropriate car seat, so that they keep their eyes forward and travel during the night so that they can get down given the fatigue accumulated during the day.

Once all these precautions have been taken you are ready to go!
