Benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), or prostatic adenoma, is a fairly common disease that consists of benign enlargement of the prostate, leading to no small amount of difficulty in urinating.
BPH affects 8% of men under 40 years of age, increasing to 50% in those over 60 years of age.
Given the high incidence of the disease, it is important that men do not overlook the occurrence of urinary complaints by seeking a specialist visit to the doctor.
