Hemolytic crisis: what is the treatment?

emolisi

The causes of hemolysis can be different. A simple peripheral smear may indicate severe ongoing hemolysis. The most common symptoms are pallor and modest skin jaundice and treatment will have to:

  • Promote diuresis and prevent hypovolemia through fluid administration
  • Transfer the patient to a transfusion center
  • Treating anemia resulting from red blood cell distribution
  • Preventing the occurrence of intravascular coagulation
  • Inform the patient about foods and substances to avoid.
