Otitis are inflammatory processes that can affect different parts of the ear.
The two most common forms are otitis externa, which involves the pinna and the first portion of the ear canal, and otitis media, which involves the tympanic cavity.
Another form of otitis is myringitis, in which only the tympanic membrane is inflamed.
The different types of otitis have different causes, modes of onset, and symptoms, but under no circumstances should they be overlooked if they are to avoid seeing the manifestations worsen, making the suffering persist longer than necessary, and going into complications that can put hearing at risk.
