A POPULAR AND BELOVED FRUIT

Starting on the North East Coast, the passion for the cranberry has spread throughout the US. The cranberry has experienced great popularity in recent years due to consumer awareness of the beneficial health effects of consuming antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables. During Thanksgiving, there is an accompanying gravy and bread filling within the menu. Ripe cranberry fruits are harvested between October and November, and during these weeks on the Cranberry Harvest roads, the red fruit is the main feature for events, festivals and food tourism itineraries. Tourists visiting the farms are struck by a sea of cranberry berries.

INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING

The history of industrial cranberry processing begins in the 1800s in Massachusetts.

Today cranberry is grown in several states in North America and Canada and is intended for various industrial processing. It is a very versatile fruit, mainly processed in the food industry, but it can also be found in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The fragrance of the red fruit is also used in the manufacture of tobacco, candles and environmental fragrances.
