Plant foods, overwhelmingly beneficial for the organism, may in some cases conceal risks that it is good to be aware of in order to avoiding more or less severe discomfort. It is not only about poisonous mushrooms or wild herbs that are potentially toxic (for intrinsic reasons or for having absorbed environmental pollutants), but also of specific parts of food of common use (such as the almond contained in the kernel of fish and apricots) or of fruits, leaves or tubers that have not yet reached the right degree of ripening or have largely outgrown it (such as unripe elderberries and green or sprouted potatoes).
