Cluster headache causes a sharp pain at the temple or around the eye, on one side of the head only, that lasts for a fairly short period of time (usually 30 minutes to 1 hour). Headache usually occurs regularly for a period of 1 to 3 months, followed by an asymptomatic period of months or years.
