Barrett’s esophagus can be asymptomatic, but in most cases it is accompanied by the typical symptoms of reflux disease that generated it such as acid regurgitation, heartburn (heartburn), difficulty swallowing food, and retro sternal pain, while in more severe cases of reflux in which severe esophagitis is associated, blackish, tarry stools or traces of blood may also be noted in vomit.
