Muscle contractures and cramps

contr

A muscle cramp is a sudden, involuntary contraction of one or more muscles.

Muscle cramps can cause severe pain; although they are generally harmless, they can make it temporarily impossible to use the affected muscle. The thigh, calf, and foot are the districts in which muscle cramps most commonly occur, which are generally transient, lasting only a few seconds, or in some cases a few minutes.
