Our organs, including the gut, heart or vascular system are not only complex physiological systems but also emotional organs. In fact, it is well known how in the internal subjective life, each of these organs is activated in the relationship with others, with ourselves, and with our emotions. This, in addition to making sense in the evolutionary development of Homo Sapiens Sapiens, has now also become scientific evidence.

There are important discoveries that have not yet been integrated into current medical culture and practice that indicate how much our physiology is influenced by the first thousand days of life and how altering it can lead to pathological physical consequences even in the decades of adult life.

It is now known, for example, that hypercholesterolemia, that is, an increase in cholesterol above threshold levels, results in a long-term increased risk of heart attack by about 30 percent, and consequently, a great deal of investment is made to decrease it. Similarly today, childhood trauma (A.C.E) has been shown to result in a 400% increased risk of heart attack in adulthood!

The course will show how the early years of life can be determinative on the microbiome and gut, obesity, and chronic inflammatory diseases in general. All this will lead us to imagine a new organization of the medicine of the future.
