Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a disease characterized by numerous clinical manifestations of which the most common are constitutional symptoms such as fever and fatigue, joint manifestations, skin rash and photosensitivity, in addition to possible renal involvement, affecting up to half of patients, pulmonary, cardiac and neurological. All in an alternation of acute clinical manifestations alternating with periods of well-being. Triggering the disease is an alteration in the patient’s immune system, which produces a large number of antibodies that turn on its own body, called “auto-antibodies.” The result is a state of inflammation that can affect different body districts.
Thyroid and pregnancy
It is necessary to observe these symptoms during pregnancy and report them to your doctor in time, especially because usually some of them such as fatigue and weight gain are also present during a normal pregnancy, so they might be taken as normal and not alert the person who is affected.
