Self-esteem and personal growth

autostima-1

Each individual’s self-perception is the ultimate expression of personality maturation. Self-esteem, therefore, is related to personality. Estimating oneself positively meets the need for psychological stability, which ensures adequate confrontation with reality. Good self-esteem is related to knowing one’s own merits and flaws and being aware of one’s character.

Positive self-esteem is a guarantee with respect to overcoming difficulties; it is an important element in the evolution of the individual. People with good self-esteem encounter difficulties, which they are able to face with the confidence that they can exert control over their environment. These people set clear goals because of their confidence and take on difficult challenges and tasks. Even with respect to setbacks, they manage to quickly regain a sense of effectiveness, with grit and will to win. In the work environment, self-esteem ensures a high level of reliability, which highlights the individual’s security. The latter does not need to conflict with others and is not afraid of competition.
